The waffle was the only breakfast food on today's trip to the Nugget Diner. I overcame the siren song of the breakfast burrito and ventured instead into the strange world of Lunch. Little did I expect what would arrive with that waffle.
I've complained before about the fake butter products used at the Nugget Diner, so imagine my surprise and delight when instead of Country Crock containers, golden bricks of butter were presented with my waffle. In a world of tawdry plastic tubs filled with vegetable oils, the gold color of the foil around these butter ingots is no coincidence. Genuine cow product is the gold standard of the breakfast grease world.
Actual photograph of the butter provided today.
The Nugget Diner is to be commended for this step in the right direction. Let's hope that this is a lasting change, and not just the result of running out of Country Crock.
